I had an odd/probably stupid thought(I get a lot of those): Can someone be sexist against their own gender? Like a guy saying sexist hurtful things about other guys?

Okay, so sexism is technically the systematic discrimination and debasement of a person based on their gender so in that way, a cis-male cannot be a victim of sexism because it’s not reinforcing a system that keeps cis-men down. They can, however, be the victims of douchebaggery, same as anyone else. A guy saying hurtful things about another guy because he is a guy is insulting but it’s not encouraging a system that works against all men.

Internalized misogyny does happen and is very hurtful, however. There are lots of women out there who genuinely believe that women cannot handle the responsibility of voting or choosing what’s best for their own bodies and they genuinely believe that a woman’s only place is as a homemaker. These women have absorbed the misogynistic rhetoric so thoroughly that many of them not only undermine the work being done towards equality but they actually put themselves on a pedestal as the shining examples of why women are better off being treated as inferiors.

And then there’s the whole spectrum of gender discrimination when one sees past the heteronormative. (a cis-man saying something against a trans-man; a cis-woman saying something against a trans-woman; etc.)

So to answer your question: if one person says something to another person that reinforces a system that works against them both based on something that they were born into, that first person is a discriminatory jerk.

A mirror ^.^;;

Unpredictable.

Okay, it’s been happening a lot lately and I don’t want to point fingers because maybe you just don’t know but: Reblog, do not repost!

It is common manners in the Tumblr community to, if you want to share an original image or post, hit the reblog button instead of creating a new post with said image. Notes are how we content-creators keep track of our readership and get to know what our readers want to see more of (and for many content-creators, those notes are the only recognition we’ll get of the hours spent on the image). Reposting takes those notes away from the original post and the original source is often lost which, whether you meant it or not, is theft of intellectual property.

There are increasing number of users reposting Busty Girl Comics and simply tagging it as Busty Girl Comics. This isn’t properly sourcing the original site and it’s not polite. Please, if you respect these comics and/or me, stop reposting them as your own.
